Gamer Girl

Despite the fact that I don't often play games in front of Allison she's bound to become a gamer.  Just like probably every kid her age, the TV sucks her brain!  She did however want to play Guitar Hero with us one weekend.  While we managed to strap the guitar around her shoulders, she did not want to be told how to hold it!  It was a lot of fun to watch her play.

She tends to steal my Xbox controllers every chance she has, especially if Cars or Nemo isn't playing.  She also likes to take the TV remote, remove the batteries and hide it.
Allison has however learned how to turn the TV, Xbox, DVD player on, and even eject the DVD and take one out.  She doesn't do this often, because fortunatly i'm really good at distracting her from destroying my stuff.  It still surpises me how smart she really is.

Finding Joy

Spending this week without Allison has been both enjoyable and boring. While I enjoy coming home to a peaceful apartment, the giggles are gone.

Browsing through some of my pictures I came across this little gem. Her happiness just jumps off the screen to me. She is able to find joy in the simplest of things. It unfortunatly reminds me of how stoic i am sometimes. Is that a bad thing?

I got allison a little Toy Chest from IKEA while she was gone. Hopefully she likes it, and learns to keep her toys there. I also had to lock up my pantry cupboard from her so there aren't any more pancake disasters.

I look forward to her coming home and getting some big hugs.

Life after Warcraft

OK, so the title is a little misleading. I haven't completely given up my addiction of choice yet. However I'm pretty darn bored with it.

I've been turning on my Xbox 360 more and more. I picked up Guitar Hero 3, Halo 3, and Lego Indiana Jones. When I go home I'll see if Anthony is any good at Guitar Hero.

Just this week however I've been addicted to a little game called Plants vs Zombies. It's a cute little castle defense game with a lot of quality. There's lots of mini games and features, but I've already beaten it (once). It's a great game that leaves me wishing there were more levels or something. At least with warcraft it's pretty much guaranteed there will be a new patch or expansion in the future.

The marketing for this game is incredibly funny and with the great reviews it has received it makes me wonder how i missed it for two months. It's one of those gems that makes me think, "I should have thought of that!". I still love the tag line, "Get ready to soil your plants!".

A blurb about me!

I finally decided to create a blog and now i have no idea what to write.

I'm busy working 40 hours a week programming, sometimes it feels like a lot more though. Especially since I'm still a night owl and i like to sleep in. Allison just turned 2 and is happy as ever. We can understand most of the words she says now, and she's starting to make a few sentences. It's SO cute!
Redmond is a great place to live except for the price tag. It's close to nearly everything in seattle including the zoo and downtown. It's been a good place for me.
